How to Decorate Matching Hall Tables

A hall may be a simple pathway between two areas in a home, or it may be an entryway or foyer in which people enjoy a first glimpse into a home. If you have enough room in a hall area, you might consider arranging some furniture to decorate the space. Placing tables against the wall can provide both storage and a focal point in this area. Decorate matching hall tables in a way that suits your style and the other decor in your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place the matching hall tables in a complementary grouping. Placement suggestions include on either side of a doorway, on opposite walls, or directly beside each other, creating the illusion of one long table.

    2

Add a lamp to one or both tables. If you place the tables together as one long table, use only one lamp. If you separate the tables, place matching or coordinating lamps on each table. Select table-size lamps with bases and shades that complement the rest of your home decor.

    3

Add a vase with dried flowers to one table. Use the vase as a second anchor for one table that counters the height of the lamp, placing the vase on the opposite end from the lamp. Add a potted plant to the other table in similar fashion.

    4

Choose one additional item for each table with less height. A candelabra or grouping of candles could sit just off center of one table, and a decorative basket could sit off center on the other table.

    5

Decorate the walls behind the tables. Add a large mirror behind one table. Behind the other table, place one large framed picture, a collage of smaller pictures, or a dried wreath.

    6

Stand back and assess the effect. Rearrange the items, making sure you do not place them in a straight line across the tables and that you do not overcrowd the tables.
