Going to the spa is a great way for anyone to relax and rejuvenate their mind, body and soul. If you are looking to turn part of your home into a spa, whether it be for yourself or to provide to customers, it is a relatively simple procedure as long as you understand what people need in order to relax and feel good about themselves. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
- 1
Determine what part of your home is to be designated for the spa. Take into consideration the size, space, window placing and temperature of the area. If you have children, it is also important to make sure you have it in a place where customers will not be interrupted or bothered. If you are using it strictly for personal use, you may also want to take children into consideration, as well as a location that is quiet or closed off from the rest of the house.
2Coordinate a color scheme for your spa and choose paint. Spas usually focus on calming earth tones, such as white, cream, sage, taupe or lavender. If there is a waiting area, use that space for bright, welcoming colors and bright lighting. The rest of the area should be done in calming tones with minimal accents.
3Cover windows in light, wispy treatments such as linen shades to allow natural light to pour in without being overpowering or blinding. If there are rooms with no windows, you may want to add light fixtures that provide dim lighting that can be adjusted.
4If you will have customers, set up a small waiting area with plush chairs or couches, magazines and coffee or other beverages. If you plan to sell products, this is also an ideal space to install shelves and display what items you have for sale.
5Set up individual rooms equipped with massage tables, counter space and several cabinets to keep products out of sight. Designate at least one room to be a changing area and allow customers to use it if they have to undress.
6Install closets or storage areas that are out of sight for customers where you can put products, slippers, robes, towels and other necessities to keep the spa running.
